Things to know: Most of the restaurants in France propose two types of meals and Calais is not exception to that. One is a ‘La Carte’ meal where there is a widespread choice of servings for each course and that means it tad too expensive. The other one i.e. ‘Le Menu’ is a fixed menu with selected dishes at a set price. Etiquette's and manners are very important in France, so even if you finished your meal, no one is going to bring you the bill until asked. Many restaurants are closed annually, during summer or Christmas season. Also check out for Sunday evenings, if the restaurant is open.
